The Zia is composed of four sets of rays extending outward from a centre circle. All of these have a meaning: -The Centre Circle represents: Moon, Home Circle, Perfect Friendship, Forever, No Beginning, No Ending, and Sun. - The right hand rays are: Infancy, Youth, Maturity, and Old Age. - The bottom rays are: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. -The left hand rays are: Morning, Noon, Evening, and Night. - The rays at the top are: East, West, North, and South. Simple is it not? The number four is very important among First Nations People and is very well represented in this simple yet appealing symbol. --- Personalisation could be added by placing a name in the blue painted strokes on either side of the Zia symbol.
