Fabulous ending piece of the story, from the first edition of “East of the Sun and West of the Moon” (1914, Hodder & Stoughton, London) - Fifteen Norwegian tales collected by folklorists Peter Christen Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Engebretsen Moe and illustrated by phenomenal Kay Nielsen. “And flitted away as far as they could from the Castle that lay East of the Sun and West of the Moon” is from the first North tale in the book of the same name. The illustration celebrates the victory of true love and determination in the face of challenges. Stay enchanted and wondrous!
