Three Hares Rabbit Four Seasons Colourful Whimsica Mug

A beautiful and intricate design, originally hand painted and glazed onto ceramic tile, depicts a traditional motif - three rabbits or hares sharing just three ears, and chasing each other in a circle. Each of the four corners has flowers and vegetation found in one of the four seasons - spring, summer, fall, winter. The natural colours include shades of green, gold and grey. A gold - hued border encircles the rabbits. A traditional folk verse is written in the border - "Rabbits three and ears as few - yet each rabbit has its two." The ancient chasing hare symbol, found throughout Europe, Britain and the Middle East, is thought to symbolise rebirth and unity. Whimsical, unique, original tile art and design by Tuzi Williams.
