The Torii crest is a crest that symbolizes a torii. Although it is said that there are various shapes of torii, the only one incorporated into the crest is the Myojin torii. The reason why the torii was chosen as a crest is likely because it is related to shrines, just like the Mizugaki, Chigi Katsuo-gi, etc., and is considered sacred, based on its religious significance. (According to 'Japanese Crests' by Noda Raisuke)
