Azulejo is a form of Spanish and Portuguese painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework. Azulejos are found on the interior and exterior of churches, palaces, ordinary houses, schools, and nowadays, restaurants, bars and even railways or subway stations. They were not only used as an ornamental art form, but also had a specific functional capacity like temperature control in homes.
There is also a tradition of their production in former Spanish and Portuguese colonies in South America, Goa, Africa (Angola and Mozambique), and in the Philippines.
They still constitute a major aspect of Portuguese architecture as they are applied on walls, floors and even ceilings. Many azulejos chronicle major historical and cultural aspects of Portuguese history.

The cushion is small to medium sized. It can be washed. It is well constructed. The material used is pleasant and feels decent quality. It has a very slight plush feel which is good. It is well labelled and its care clearly stated. Theres nothing not to like about it. All in all a good item. The deduction of one star overall is due to long delays in delivery to the UK. It's not clear if this was due to Zazzle or somewhere else in the chain as I did not receive status updates of dispatch or progress. I cannot comment anymore on that other than to say that was our experience but it may not be the same for you. The printing was surprisingly close to what we were expecting. Its an art piece and on material so its hard to assess the precision of printing but it seems close to the original. The soft lines are reproductions of the original. The colour is a fair reflection of the painting. This was printed in the US and it looks like US quality. No issues.
