Tree of Life is Weeping, blank interior Card

Gouache painting by Rabbi Me'irah Iliinsky commemorating October 27, 2018, Pittsburgh, PA. This tree of life is filled with symbolism, and contains the names of the deceased and physically injured at the Tree of Life*Or L'Simcha synagogue building. The other leaves on the tree represent the many others who were hurt by this event in their hearts and souls. Eight of the pomegranates and the three flowers are the legacy left behind on the tree of life by the deceased. The uppermost pomegranate is the resilience and wisdom of the Jewish people. The lion of Judah and Gazelle of Ein Gedi weep along with the tree. The dove of peace is partially obscured, but looks towards the future. The owl of wisdom and knowlege rests in the scar of the tree.
