The symbolism of the Nemes headdress is thought to be the rays of the Sun. My own personal idea is that wearing such a headdress might enable the Pharaoh to actually hear better the mutterings of his court and subjects perhaps seeming to give him powers in this way. I have used my computer skills to reconstruct / restore this fabulous ancient work of art. I removed damage to the gold, and fixed or replaced broken precious stones or ancient Egyptian colour glass.
