The U.S.S Detroit was an inter war "Scout Cruiser". She was at Pearl Harbor, and was my fathers training ship in 1940. She served through the war, and was at the ceremonies in Tokyo Bay that ended hostilities between the United States and Japan. This design comes from a 1940 photo album owned by my father,
