Title : 駒形河岸（komagata kagishi / こまがた かぎし / By the Sumida River Around Komagata from “Twelve Scenes of Tokyo”) 「東京十二題」より A view in front of a bamboo shop on the Komagata riverbank (now Kaminarimon 2-chōme, Taitō-ku, Tokyo) in Asakusa, Tokyo. The Ōkawa River (Sumida River) can be seen through the bamboo. Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
