Ulysses and the Sirens Poster
This is a reproduction of “Ulysses and the Sirens” by Herbert James Draper of 1909. The painting was created when the artist was forty-six years old. The scene is from Homer’s Odyssey and falls within Draper’s prefered subjects from Greek Mythology. Later in his career when mythological subjects became less popular, he turned to portraiture and gained a great deal of contemporary fame. He was born in London and studied art in the Royal Academy. He won the Gold Medal in 1889 which financed his trips to Rome and Paris. He worked as an illustrator and, settling in London aged twenty-six he married and had a daughter. He died of arteriosclerosis at his London home in 1920. This masterpiece is an oil on canvas and measures 69.7 by 84.1 inches. It is in the Ferens Art Gallery in Kingston upon Hull, England.

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame.
This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again.
One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up.
Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font.
Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
