UNESCO - Hill Forts of Rajasthan - Jaisalmer Fort Postcard

UNESCO - Hill Forts of Rajasthan - Jaisalmer Fort Postcard

UNESCO WHS Serie - Hill Forts of Rajasthan - राजस्थान के पहाड़ी दुर्ग - The serial site, situated in the state of Rajastahan, includes six majestic forts. The ecclectic architecture of the forts bears testimony to the power of the Rajput princely states that flourished in the region from the 8th to the 18th centuries. Jaisalmer Fort is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan, built in 1156 by the Rajput Jaisal from whom it derives its name. It stood at the crossroads of important trade routes, including the ancient Silk road. The fort's massive yellow sandstone walls are a tawny lion colour during the day, fading to honey-gold as the sun sets, thereby camouflaging the fort in the yellow desert. For this reason it is also known as the Sonar Quila or Golden Fort. The fort stands amidst the sandy expanse of the great Thar Desert on Trikuta Hill. Bought 10 Shakespeare quotes postcards and have framed them individually and placed them around the house Love them, some are funny and some are deep and meaningful! Lovely background on some, excellent printed words. A couple of plain white cards with black print - very stricking

My order was probably an awkward one! I asked for a range of different fine-art prints, in postcard size. It was all freshly printed, delivered quickly and at a very reasonable price. Best quality matt finish I've seen on a fine-art print.

The Zazzle cards are always beautifully done and these were no exception. I love these cards because, after over 70 years of collecting, I can fill in the gaps. I especially like the ones of UNESCO heritage sites, some of which are fairly obscure, and which have both photos and texts on them.
