The carnivorous plant Venus Flytrap, scientific name Dionaea muscipula, is native to coastal North Carolina and northern South Carolina. It grows in open bogs, and is also a popular cultivated plant. The botanical artwork is our exclusive colour version, based on a drawing by naturalist and artist Isaac Sprague, in The Genera of the Plants of the United States, author Asa Grey, published 1849.
