A little bit of history: "Puck" was America's first successful humour magazine of colourful cartoons, caricatures and political satire of the issues of the day. It was published from 1871 until 1918. Simon Werner (early 20th century) was accomplished artist with a classical training at the Academy Julian in Paris, and enjoyed a successful career in illustration with work for The Saturday Evening Post, Scribner's, Puck, and The Ladies' Home Journal. He also held several advertising accounts, such as the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company, in the 1910s and '20s.
