Vintage English Landscape in Derbyshire County Mug
This design features a painting by the American landscape artist Alexander Helwig Wyant (1836–1892). It shows a natural landscape in the countryside of Derbyshire, a county in the East Midlands of England. A river is running through the landscape (perhaps the River Derwent), beside which there is a dirt path running through a forest of trees. In the distance can be seen seen a city with houses and church spires; there is also a castle ruin. There are grey clouds in the blue sky. The original artwork was painted in 1871.
