Vintage French troll like Santa Christmas Holiday Postcard
From a late 19th century postcard, retouched, restored, borders added.
Likely inspired by Nordic folklore, where a creature called "Tomte" or "Nisse", a short, bearded man dressed in grey clothes and a red hat, delivered the presents.
You would expect this creature to be riding a 'Yule' goat, but in this case the Christmas sleigh has rabbits (hares) pulling it.
