Vintage Sergeant William Carney 1864 poster. William was a member of the 54th of Massachusetts during the Civil War. He was awarded the Medal of Honour for saving the regimental colours during the Battle of Fort Wagner in 1863. Despite being shot numerous times in arms legs and face, he refused to let the flag touch the ground. Custom colourized vintage art that would look great framed.
