Vintage Tabby Cat and Bee Throw Pillow

This charming vintage throw pillow for cat lovers and cat owners features a close up painting of the face of a wide eyed tabby cat mesmerised by a bee buzzing around in the air above his head. On the other side of the pillow you can see the painting in all its glory. Here, the cat has one paw raised as if it's about to pounce. Obviously this is one green eyed cat who has never been stung by a bee before! Called ‘White Cat with Bee,’ the painting is signed by artist Harry Beard and dated 1876. The cute cat appeared on a poster published by L. Prang & Co. of Boston, one of the first manufacturers of Christmas cards in America. The original chromolithograph is housed in Boston Public Library’s Print Department.
