Vintage Vinegar Valentine - Old Maid, Holiday Card

In the late 1880s to 1940s, Vinegar Valentines were a popular way to send a message to someone you didn't like or someone you wanted to prank. They had rude but funny messages about a type of person that was written as an insult. This card features the face of an unattractive woman and is titled "Old Main." The verse on the front of the card is: "Old Maid - you simper and smirk and primp with care in hope that you'll find a mate somewhere. No doubt you peek 'neath the bed at night praying there'll be a man in sight. Now listen, old maid, here's some advice which is very true though not so nice. The only man that you'll ever find is one who is deaf and dumb and blind!" The inside of the card is blank for your own message.
