Vintage Vinegar Valentine - The Wolf Howling, Holiday Card
In the late 1880s to 1940s, Vinegar Valentines were a popular way to send a message to someone you didn't like or someone you wanted to prank. They had rude but funny messages about a type of person that was written as an insult. This card depicts a man who seemingly bays at the moon like a wolf every time an attractive woman walks by. He's down on all fours howling thinking that will gain him positive attention from the woman. The verse on the front of the card says "Wolf - You think you make the gals all swoon, and maybe you are right. They swoon at just the sight of you because you're such a fright." The inside of the card is blank for your own message.

Absolutely loved this card which was for husband on valentines day from our little yorkie. The yorkie on the card looked just like ours and because I could change the words to what I wanted was Absolutely Brilliant. Everything was exactly as I wanted the little yorkie was brilliant just like ours.
