A beautiful reproduction of | Girl and Laurel | Oil on canvas | Artist: Winslow Homer (1836 - 1910) | Circa 1879 | Current location of original work: Detroit Institute of Arts. Best known for his marine subjects, Winslow Homer was an American landscape painter and print-maker who was largely self-taught. Homer began his career working as a commercial illustrator but later took up oil painting; he also worked extensively in watercolor.
