Vintage Yokai Otoroshi- Japanese Monster Mouse Mat

The Otoroshi is an ogre-like monster with lots of hair who hides atop torii gates at Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples. He springs down on troublemakers when they pass by. This depiction of Otoroshi was drawn by Sawaki Suushi in 1737 as part of the Hyakkai Zukan, or Illustrated Volume of a Hundred Spirits.
