Vintage advertisement for riders for the Pony Express. The Pony Express only operated for 18 months in the 1860s. They took the mail from St Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California in 10 days through dessert, plains, mountains, and prairies. The ad says they're looking for a young, skinny, wiry fellow, not yet 18, excellent rider. Must be willing to risk his life daily. Orphans preferred. Wages? $25 per week.
