Wat Arun, commonly known as the Temple of Dawn, is a stunning Buddhist temple on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand. It is one of Bangkok's most iconic and beautiful landmarks, known for its unique prang (spire) decorated with colourful porcelain and seashells. The central prang is over 70 metres high, rising majestically above the river. The temple's design is inspired by the legendary Mount Meru, the centre of the universe in Hindu and Buddhist cosmology. The central prang is surrounded by four smaller satellite prangs, each beautifully ornamented. Visitors can climb the steep steps to the top levels of the prang for breathtaking views of the Chao Phraya River and the Bangkok skyline, especially stunning during sunset.
