    John William Waterhouse Ophelia magnet. Oil painting on canvas from 1894. English artist John Waterhouse frequently drew on literary themes, and Shakespeare was one of his greatest sources of inspiration. Waterhouse dedicated multiple paintings to Hamlet’s doomed heroine Ophelia. This early painting features the girl wearing a light blue dress with gold embroidery and jewelled bracelets. Ophelia’s hair is auburn and adorned with dark red flowers. She sits at the edge of a pond full of water lilies with daisies in her lap. A great gift for fans of J.W.     This is gorgeous little magnet, which I am using on my fridge, the artist has captured the primroses perfectly, always nice to bring a bit of beauty from the outside in. The printing turned out brilliantly, the primroses really do stand out.
