This portrait of the two dogs having fun is of me play fighting with my rescued Shar Pei brother, Aspen. It’s not detectable from the angle, but I am already bigger than Aspen! My mum won’t let me play with Aspen like this today, because she says WE (she really means ME) have done our part to help stop pet overpopulation and I need to heal up from the trip to the vet’s office. I think I was what you humans call neutered? All I know is, I am missing some of my parts! Aspen was dropped off at the night drop at the dog pound as a puppy. The poor guy must have been really scared for he was totally blind from “cherry eye” (the prolapsed gland of the third eyelid) and “entropion” (the rolling in of the eyelids) in both of his wrinkly eyes. After six eye surgeries, he has his full vision and can clearly locate me when it’s time for a game of chase around the house (not today though)! - Kahuna Luna
