Wild Blossoms (by Edward Poynter) Tile

This design features a painting by the English artist Sir Edward John Poynter (1836–1919), who served as President of the Royal Academy of Arts. It shows a lovely young woman who is wearing a diaphanous cream-coloured dress made out of thin fabric. The contours and curves of her beautiful body can be seen through the clothing. The woman is walking in a rural idyll as she collects some red flowers that are growing on the hillside. She has a basket in one hand that she is using to gather the bright colourful flowers that she has collected. It is an incredibly impressive depiction of feminine beauty and the delights of nature. There is grass growing on the hills and fills surrounding the young woman, and there is a cluster of trees growing on the horizon. The original artwork was painted by Edward Poynter in 1880.
