Windsor Ruins Mississippi Postcard
The Windsor Ruins, located near Port Gibson, are the hauntingly beautiful remnants of what was once one of Mississippi's grandest Antebellum mansions. Built in the mid-19th century, this magnificent Greek Revival home was destroyed by fire in 1890, leaving behind only the massive Corinthian columns and portions of the ironwork. Today, these impressive 23 columns stand dramatically against the sky, surrounded by natural overgrowth, creating a powerful and melancholic sight.
