This commemorative card features a reproduction of a photograph of Wilbur Wright examining the canoe attachment to his aeroplane before his first flight over water; at Governors Island in New York on September 29, 1909; he flew from 40 to 100 feet and proceeded to circle Governors Island twice, landing back at the drill field; total time was about 7 minutes and 10 seconds and distance covered was estimated at 2 miles.
