WWII Polish Army in Narvik, Norway Magnet
1943 Gr 55 Polish Postage Stamp depicting the Polish Army in Narvik which fought along side British, French and Norwegian troops during the Battle of Narvik. Issued in London by the Polish Government in Exile, this stamp was used on Polish ships and by armed forces who continued to fight after Poland fell to Germany and Russia. By the end of 1945 over 195,000 poles were fighting in the Western Front. In the Eastern front the Polish forces numbered 200,000 fighting along side the Russians.
