The Yellow Christ (1889) by Paul Gauguin is a vintage post impressionism fine art religious painting. About the artist: Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was a leader in the Post Impressionist movement which extended Impressionism while rejecting its limitations. They used vivid colours, thick application of paint, distinctive brushstrokes and real-life subject matter, but were more inclined to emphasise geometric forms and to use unnatural or arbitrary colour.
