Yellowstone River

Flowing through Yellowstone National Park and joining the Missouri River, the Yellowstone River is actually a tributary of the Missouri and is the longest undammed river in the contiguous United States. The Yellowstone River is close to 700 miles long and retains most of its natural habitat, characteristics and flows. Our photograph of the Yellowstone River was taken in late spring while snow was still melting in the mountains causing high and rapidly moving water. Beautiful scenery of native grasses and cedar are seen surrounding the river bend where towering rock features in the background create and awe-inspiring landscape.
