After a relentlessly horrible 2020, Pantone has opted for a double color of the year, selecting gray and yellow to convey “a message of strength and hopefulness”, as the press release states.
Pantone 17-5104 is described by the color company as “solid and dependable”, akin to pebbles on the beach, or weathered natural elements that have stood the test of time, while Pantone 13-0647 is described as “sparkling with vivacity, a warming yellow shade imbued with solar power”.
And, after everything that’s happened in this grayest year of all, it’s hard not to wish that Pantone had really gone to town on just one truly invigorating shade. Does Ultimate Gray feel a bit like we’re admitting defeat? Maybe Illuminating needed to stand on its own for 2021.

Came in reasonable time especially since it was overseas shipping and more importantly I'm blown away by the quality.
Its not just a cheaply printed picture but acryclic or some other transparent material bonded to the pic.
As an added bonus, the clock doesn't make a ticking noise but is silent. Printing / image quality is exactly as i envisaged if not better. Its difficult to get a picture that just right for this use but the one i had worked nicely with white letters, i can imagine some other photos i had would have worked equally well with black. Very happy customer.
