The Bake-zouri, or Bake-zōri (化け草履, "ghost sandal"), is a type of tsukumo-gami (付喪神, "artefact spirit") from Japanese folklore. When a straw sandal called a zōri reaches one hundred years in age, the sandal comes to life and runs around your house! Make sure you treat your possessions well!
