The 11th Airborne Division Tribute design honours the valiant "Arctic Angels" of the United States military. This airborne unit was formed in 1943 and gained popularity in the Philippines during WWII. The Arctic Angels stood out on the battlefield due to their daring jumps and fierce fighting. After their victories, they joined Japan's occupation forces, demonstrating their courage and fortitude.
By 2022, the US Military Alaska Headquarters will be renamed the 11th Airborne Division. The 1st and 4th Brigade Combat Teams were redesignated as the 11th Airborne Division's 1st and 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Teams, respectively.
This design pays tribute to both the 11th Airborne Division's legacy and the brave men and women who served valiantly.
