1880 Maw & Co Transferware Victorian Daffodil Tile

Maw & Co. was founded in 1850 by George and Arthur Maw. By 1883 the British company had become the largest tile producer in the world, making more than 20 million tiles a year. More known today for their encaustic tiles, this is a copy of one of our favourite ceramic tiles - a rare hand-coloured tile with daffodils and a butterfly. Use it for coasters, trivets, wall tiles, or gifts. It looks great displayed on a small easel.

Really nice image fixed to the tiles in my shower as a background to a soap dish. This was to hide the marks left by a broken soap dish. Just used tile adhesive and white grout. I think it looks good, almost like the drips are falling from the soap dish. No probs. Nice image.
