This clock indicates the typical cortisol levels in blood during the day. A THICKER minute mark indicates HIGHER cortisol levels, and consequently - GREATER alertness. ////////// EXPLANATION: Cortisol is a hormone that is produced in reaction to stress, and enables the body to deal with the situation. For example, it changes the body metabolism and immune reaction. It also increases mental attention and alertness. Note that the typical "peak" of cortisol levels is around 08:00-09:00 in the morning, so these are great hours for mental effort!
