ATOMIC VETERAN T-SHIRT Nuclear Test
Atomic Veterans are U.S.military veterans who were exposed to ionising radiation during their active service. It includes thousands of American servicemen who took part in atmospheric nuclear tests (1945-1962). It also includes veterans who were stationed in the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the American occupation of Japan before 1946 (including certain veterans who were prisoners of war there). The U.S. government realises that high doses of radiation can cause increased incidence of many cancers and genetic mutations. The government acknowledges that at least twenty-one cancers and related illnesses could have resulted form the atomic fallout. These Atomic Veterans are a forgotten group, who many feel were used as guinea pigs. Children and spouses of these Veterans may also suffer many illnesses and congenital conditions. As a son of an Atomic Veteran who assisted the Japanese in Hiroshima after the bomb, I am but one family member of many of the estimated 185,000 Atomic Veterans. I give wanted to give this a 4 instead of a 5 because these Basic DARK T0shirts run unexpectedly SLIM or Narrow. Which is great if you do not have a potbelly, but I have a paunch. It isn't the shirt's fault that I've got a beer belly. The design and shirt itself is a quality cotton shirt. The color is more of a deep purple, but still a very pretty color. The Basic DARK T-shirts run a bit SLIMMER than the Basic Ts. The neck is a fraction narrower (or seems to be narrower) also. I'm a paunchy middle-aged woman and my neck is 12 inches (31cm) thick and the neckline fell about the same as in the photo of the man, and I had the desire to tug it a bit. So if you're a thick necked man or like loose shirts, be aware these are slimmer shirts. Once I get rid of my lockdown paunch it'll look great. The shirt washed well in cold water with no apparent bleeding. We don't have a dryer, so it hung dry. Did not shrink. Love the colors and the design. The design looks smaller on my shirt than it does on the model on-line. But still, it looks good on the shirt. The printing looks as it does on the model, just the size seems fractionally smaller. Washed garment in cold water, hung dry and design appeared unaffected.

It’s a good quality cotton T Shirt, the colour is true to the description and it washes well on a cold wash. I was really pleased with printing, the detail was there and the colour was a true representation of the painting I submitted. It’s had many compliments from friends and one suggested trying it without the speech bubble as it was a bit loud for his humourless and shy personality so I’ve added one to my shop. I’ll definitely be trying more ideas so watch this space!
