Bamboo Kanji Japanese Calligraphy Postcard

A kanji is the Japanese word for Chinese character. Chinese characters represent an idea into one character. Typically, one part of the kanji is the meaning of the character, while the other gives it the sound. They are usually combined with other kanji to make complex words. This beautiful postcard has Japanese calligraphy for the kanji 竹. It means bamboo. When used on its own as a word, bamboo is pronounced "take". 竹 is one of the kanji that is also means the same in Chinese. The calligraphy was handwritten by me on a tablet. A pretty green background gives the impression of a bamboo forest in sunset. The watercolor style background adds a peaceful vibe without taking away from the gracefulness of the kanji. On the back is the meaning of the kanji, to show your friends what you know! Did you know you don't need an envelope to send a postcard? You can save a little money that way, especially if you use the postcard stamp. But if you want an envelope, chose the regular postcard.
