i found this little reminder that "love is all around" (on my birthday, no less!) on a beach on the hawaiian island of kaua'i. since it is bad luck to take rocks from the island, i reluctantly left it behind, but it seemed most appropriate to leave it on my favourite beach, where i'd twice enjoyed snorkelling and watching sea turtles. this is, hands down, my favourite photo from the whole trip. (poipu beach, kaua'i, 18 july 2018)
