This bristlecone pine probably lived for several thousand years at over 12,000 feet in elevation. It was observed and drawn on site in the White Mountains of California in August, 2018, while on a trip to the summit of White Mountain, 14,252 ft, the highest mountain in its range that flanks the eastern side of the Owens Valley.
