Burggarten (1919) Paul Klee. Poster

Burggarten (1919) Paul Klee. public domain , 1919 , paul klee , klee , abstract , bauhaus , public domain art , cubism , paul klee burggarten , geometric Paul Klee (1879–1940), the father of Abstract Art and a central figure of the Bauhaus movement. The Swiss–German artist began his painting training in 1898 in Munich and later involved with the German Expressionist group Der Blaue Reiter, founded by Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc. Influenced by Cubism and Surrealism, he is best known for minimal stick figures, abstract forms, vivid colours and his usage of symbols drawn from imagination, poetry, music, literature, and the world around him. In 1920, Walter Gropius invited Klee to teach at the Bauhaus, where he became one of the most celebrated teachers. His artworks later inspired the next generations of artists and designers including Joan Miró, Salvador Dali, and Mark Rothko. "The more horrifying the world becomes, the more art becomes abstract." – Paul Klee

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame. This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again. One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up. Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font. Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
