Cupid as a Link Boy Large Clock
Painting of little Cupid disguised as a link boy wearing demonic bat wings, dressed in the tattered clothes of a London street urchin, holding a torch and looking over his shoulder. A link boy was a boy who carried a flaming torch to light the way for pedestrians at night. Link boys were common in London in the days before street lighting. Wonderful oil on canvas by Sir Joshua Reynolds (ca 1771).
