Dolphin, Mediaeval Bestiary Art Notebook

Dolphin, Mediaeval Bestiary Art Notebook In a coastal bay at sunset, a grey Dolphin leaps from the waves with water spraying all around it. The low sun glows orange over the sea behind it. The scholar's entry calls it swift as the ocean breeze and says it plays when the high tide is up, and its leap is a radiant and glorious thing. That playful joy of the open water shapes the whole design. A large gold drop cap on a patterned blue panel opens the name DOLPHIN, with a red subtitle, of the Coastal Bay, set beneath it over a small black ornament. A short scholar's entry in old style lettering fills the left column, and a framed window on the right shows the grey Dolphin leaping from splashing waves at sunset. A small brown ink sketch of a tail fluke marks the lower left corner. Dolphin grey, sea blue, and sunset gold sit on a parchment tone page with darkened, burnt looking edges, inside a border of blue and red acanthus vines, red and gold flowers, four small songbirds, and thin gold rails. • Grey Dolphin leaping in a coastal bay at sunset • Gold drop cap D, red subtitle of the Coastal Bay, and a short scholar's lore entry • Grey, sea blue, and sunset gold on a parchment tone page with a blue and red floral border • Part of the Mediaeval Bestiary Notebook Collection from Wild Realms
