Doomsday Fire Skateboard

Part of the Doomsday series from my "On Common Ground" exhibition, these images were loosly inspired by a Star Trek episode. I use many layers of photography, traditional drawings/paintings that I scan in to the computer, digital paintings and frames/sequences of animation. The layers are all fused together to form the final image. When presented in an exhibition, I usually present my original images on recycled aluminium. The files are sent to an archival printer who uses a process called dye sublimation on sheets of recycled aluminium. This allows me to retain the intensity and vibrancy present in the original pictures as seen on my screen.

Had reservations about the print quality when ordering, but the graphics came out exactly as designed - the higher resolution the better (I used 600 DPI and everything was sharp). Extreme heat or cold could peel the decal a bit so make sure its in an even temperature environment. I'm only going to use as display, dont think the decal would hold up under heavy skating use. Printing was exactly as designed, 600 DPI PNG was sharp and gradients very good.
