    This design is from my original painting of an Eastern Box Turtle. Turtles exude a sense of placid confidence as they move through the world, which makes them a soothing creature to paint. An Eastern Box Turtle in the wild is a beautiful sight; I love that the yellow pattern of its shell looks like dappled sunlight on the forest floor!
