Efficient movement - postcard

FELDENKRAIS ABOUT EFFICIENT MOVEMENT: POSTCARD A postcard inspired by the Feldenkrais Method and the art of moving with greater ease, clarity, and awareness. The front of the postcard features a photograph taken by me in Paris many years ago. It shows a mural by the artist Dominique Antony: an acrobat walking on a tightrope among the clouds, scattering stars as he goes. Balanced between sky and city, the figure carefully places one foot in front of the other while allowing something light and bright to fall behind him - like small points of possibility. The image becomes a poetic reflection on balance, coordination, and the art of doing more with less unnecessary effort. “Efficient movement or performance of any sort is achieved by weeding out, and eliminating, parasitic superfluous exertion.” — Moshe Feldenkrais, Learn to Learn booklet, p. 3, 1980, Feldenkrais Resources The photograph is an original image taken by me in Paris — not a stock photo. With its combination of urban art, movement, balance, and Feldenkrais’s words, this postcard can be a meaningful gift for practitioners, students, teachers, and anyone interested in awareness, movement, creativity, or personal development. It is also a lovely choice for people currently undertaking Feldenkrais training who would like to send a meaningful postcard from their training segment to family and friends. The image and quotation offer a gentle way to share something of what they are learning and to introduce others to the spirit of the Feldenkrais Method. Perfect to give as a gift, send to a friend, display in a Feldenkrais studio, or keep as a reminder that efficient movement begins with noticing and letting go of what is unnecessary.
