Eight Humourous Bridge Player Ladies Playing Cards

Printed from an original watercolor painting of mine. These funny ladies are part of my Whimsical Lady series. They remind all of us not to take ourselves OR life too serious. Their outrageous attire includes jaunty hats and feathers, and along with over-the-top jewellery they make a statement all their own. One cannot think they don't march to their own drummer and sing their own songs! The initial inspiration of these funny women were made by using actual felt for the hats, real beads for the wired earrings, yarn for the hair and lots of paint for the faces, sunglasses and necklaces. I use the 'limited palette' of the three primary colours for my watercolor paintings. This produces all the shades and hues you see in my paintings. Red, yellow and blue transparent watercolor in both warm and cool shades can be mixed to obtain any colour in the spectrum. I find I have more control over the final results. My artwork covers a wide range of subjects. I paint whimsically humourous, one-of-a-kind art to serious fine art. However, my passion is painting portraiture of animals and people. I love to capture the emotion of the moment. Both subjects have their own personalities. This makes the end result very challenging AND rewarding. I accept private commissions, working from good photographs. My medium is watercolor. However, I also work with graphite. Prices for originals are set by the square inch.
