Elves: Originally portrayed in Germanic, Scandinavian, and British folklore these magical beings are generally portrayed as beautiful creatures of smaller stature with a similar appearance to our human form. Related in Norse mythology to the Goddess Freyja elves were originally viewed by these people as being minor gods. With pointed ears as their defining characteristic they are depicted as relating closely to nature and are recognised largely for their mischievous and sometimes even sinister behaviour.
