Georges Seurat - Circus Sideshow Apron

Circus Sideshow (Parade de cirque), painted in 1887-1888 in oil on canvas by French Neo-Impressionist painter Georges Seurat. It depicts a ringmaster and musicians performing beneath gaslights outside the Cirque Corvi in Paris as spectators gather below. Seurat's Pointillist colour and strict geometry give this nocturnal scene of popular entertainment a mysterious stillness.
