Okay, I know that the illustrations lean towards American culture, but who doesn't love a centrally located pilgrim in friendship with a turkey and spreading his arms open to welcome the harvest (this "Herbst" in German) and a trick-or-treater? After all, Halloween has spread increasingly to Germany. This mat is headed with the standard welcome in German, "Herzlich Willkommen!" The decorative letting in "Herbst" is seasonally appropriate and reminiscent of German "Fraktur" lettering. I'll put the mat at the door to my classroom, and you can, too.
